Imagine a world where all land is governed under Regenerative Community Land Trusts or Earth trusts, where the Earth is protected in perpetuity and trustees are allowed to give enforceable lawful notice to those who cause harm to the land held in that trust.
Of course we're not there yet, but there are hopeful signs that movement in that direction is happening.
